40 Reasons I’m Happy at 40…
1. I can now actually say: 40 is the new 20! And even if it’s not, it certainly feels that way all of a sudden!
2. God has blessed me with my favorite and most critical 3 C's: Comfort, Consistency, and Convenience in life
3. I've traveled to at least 40 places in the world and touched 4 continents so far
4. I'm still not tired of learning new things, in fact, I feel like I'm just getting started – and I always feel "I'm still learning," as Michelangelo said at the young age of 87
5. I’ve learned to embrace getting older because I now know that each day is a gift
6. The happiness & pleasure I get from ordinary experiences has increased, and it’s just so fun to make the ordinary extraordinary
7. I'm more confident than I've ever been
8. I really don't care what people think anymore
9. I'm happily making healthy choices for my life
10. I have daily rituals I stick to that keep me centered, focused, calm, and sane
11. I keep a great sense of humor and I laugh and smile any chance I get
12. I'm somehow able to let a lot of stuff go and not be dramatic
13. In spite of my human moments of down-ness, I've managed to always have a pretty positive & upbeat way about me
14. I've found kale late in life and can't get enough of it
15. I like being mindful, in the moment, aware, and present
16. I'm really enjoying being an adult in so many ways. It weirdly makes me feel like a kid
17. I think I may be able to finally call myself a "woman" instead of a"girl" and feel completely ok about it
18. I get it
19. I'm writing more than I ever did and it fulfills me in ways I cannot describe to anyone in words
20. I've met Bruce Willis 4 times in my life so far…
21. I've had friends in my life that are now friends for over 35 years!
22. I'm thankful and grateful for so much stuff; and I really get why gratitude is important
23. I know I'm lucky to have many memories of childhood that were sweet, innocent, tender, and beautiful
24. I’m happy knowing I will never again have to take the SAT's or any other exams that involve filling in little bubbles
25. I'm comfortable with my age, weight, and height and don't hesitate to reveal it to anyone ever
26. I can still hear the music, and I still want to dance!
27. I can easily sit in a cafe by myself and enjoy a coffee and people watch
28. I'm happy I found yoga
29. I no longer stress about not being able to properly fold the fitted sheet
30. I’m finally recognizing it's not all about me, and learning it hardly ever is
31. I live in the greatest city in the world
32. I am surrounded by beautiful friends and family that remind me how great it is to share life with those you love
33. I'm free to live and do and think as I please
34. I don't feel the clock ticking any longer. I've made time stand still for awhile living in the present
35. Everything is already ok. And I already have always had everything I need.
36. Security, guidance, wisdom, and power – I'm far enough along to know these all reside within me. It's all in my control to take charge of it, to take charge of my life, to get up and go.
37. Inspiration comes everyday in new ways.
38. Life begins at 40! I've waited my whole life for my life to begin. And now, here it is! Fun, Fabulous, Forty!
39. I know God is with me always. Everyday. Everywhere. In every way, in all I do. I feel His light, and love, and presence. Thank you God.
40. I realize now that there's simply not enough time for everything. But instead of getting disappointed, I see that this is a chance for creativity – to do the most with the little time that exists. I can and I will do it all – whatever that all is to be for me.
