How To Achieve Your Goal in 17-Seconds!!!
Today marks the first day of fall in the Northern Hemisphere. To be exact, it begins at precisely 9:54 p.m. (E.S.T.). So, as of this writing, we've still got another 12 hours or so of summer left to enjoy! Woohoo! But yes, it will officially be autumn at some point today.
Fall brings to mind many things: harvest time, Halloween, Thanksgiving, leaves changing colors, pumpkin spice everything, cooler weather, back-to-school mode, chunky scarves and boots, cozy binge-watching our favorite new TV series on the couch…
And…CHANGE. Aside from the change in temperature, I'm always struck by the sudden appearance of shorter days. Without fail, every Fall I begin to equate darkness and shorter days with "there's just not enough time in the day."
The days, of course, remain just as long as those seemingly endless summer days. We can still get just as much done. But it looks and feels different. Time begins to feel restricted to daylight hours. We feel pressed for time, and we need to find ways to use it more wisely! So here's a quick tip I want to share with you that you can use this Fall (or at any time really!) to help move you forward on achieving your daily goals. And it won't take any time at all!
The 17-Second Rule says that if you can visualize your goals for that amount of time, it will shift your mood. If you can dare to hold this visualization for even longer than 17-seconds, then you'll be creating new neural pathways too! Also, you may want to try setting and stating your intention for the day out loud as you begin that day. This will set you on the path to do so!
So, what do you intend to do today?
