Talk It Out…

Lately when I've found myself stressed out over something, I've noticed that it's always worse when it just stays inside my head. As long as it's stuck in my head & has never been spoken aloud, I am a mess. I feel anxious, irritable, and a nervousness lies deep in my chest. I feel the mental chaos of thoughts running from one place to the next. And I feel the physical aches & pains of the body rising more & more.
But just as soon as I talk about it to someone, anyone who will truly listen, it somehow starts to lose its power over me. Suddenly, the problem or stress that seemed so large & impossible to deal with has instantly shrunk in size right before my eyes. Saying it out loud makes it better somehow. And knowing someone can listen & maybe relate or offer a few supportive words helps too.
Today & EveryDay: Remember that a good word from someone will somehow always make you feel lighter. And while the issue at hand may still not be resolved, talking it out can only make things better. No matter how silly it is, or private, or embarassing, you can always find someone you trust to listen. Talk It Out. Always.
